
David Ivison (Heatherside & Parkside);

David has been a Member of Surrey County Council since May 2005 and currently chairs the Transportation Select Committee, having also previously chaired the Surrey Heath Local Committee.
He believes that he brings a pragmatic approach to local government and is firmly of the opinion that common sense should be put before bureaucracy. It is also his belief that the interests of the taxpayer must come before those of Council officials.
Prior to his election to Surrey County Council David served in the military for 30 years, mainly with Gurkha soldiers. He also had spells in Whitehall and Brussels.
In addition to that he has 25 years of commercial experience as the Distribution Director for Tate & Lyle, and was also the Chief Executive of a professional engineering institutes.
