Nigel Sutcliffe (Worplesdon);

Nigel was elected to Surrey County Council in a by-election on 15th July 2010 following the passing away of Mike Nevins on Friday 7th May after losing his fight against cancer.

Nigel has a long association with local politics in Guildford. He has lived in Guildford for 25 years and represented Worplesdon on Guildford Borough Council from 1995 to 2003.

Whilst on Guildford Borough Council Nigel was on the planning committee for 5 years and he is currently a substitute on the County Council's Planning & Regulatory Committee.

Nigel take a keen interest in the environment and green transport, is a regular cyclist and is well known for campaigning on environmental issues. Nigel started the successful campaign against plans to build an extra 2,000 houses in Worplesdon.
